William J. Baaden of New Rochelle died April 30, 2021 at the age of 84. He is survived by a dozen adoring Nieces and Nephews and a multitude of Grand Nieces/Nephews. William is predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Ellen P. Baaden, and his sister Cecilia and brothers Walter, Richard and George.
He was born and raised in the Bedford Park neighborhood of the Bronx. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a decorated FDNY Lieutenant having loyally served for over 32 years with Engine 21 in Manhattan, Ladder 29 in the Bronx and retiring from Engine 97 in the Bronx (The Astor Hilton).
William was great man of service, faith, love and humility. He had a positive and inspiring impact on the lives that he touched for those that personally knew him and for the countless lives that he saved by courageously risking his own life, without reservation, for those that did not personally know him.
Military and FDNY Honors will take place in a graveside service followed by a Christian burial on Thursday at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Section 3 at 11:00 am.
