Valentine DeRosa

Valentine DeRosa, beloved wife of Salvatore DeRosa and mother of Paul, Donna and
Thomas DeRosa transitioned on Sept 12th at 3:00AM. She was 94 years old.
Valentine or Val as she was affectionately known was born in Brooklyn, New York on
Feb, 13, 1929. She had 2 brothers, John and Joseph, and 2 sisters, Viola and Antionette. Her
father who served in WW1 died when she was only 12 years old. Her mother Anna eventually
remarried Jacob Novecki.
In the early 1950’s she met the man of her dreams, Salvatore DeRosa and they were
married soon after he served in the Korean War in 1954. The couple moved to Mt. Vernon, NY
and remained married until Sal transitioned in 2017 at 89 years old. It was at this home that Val
peacefully transitioned. She is survived by her sons, Paul and Thomas, daughter, Donna, and
grandchildren, Dana, Jena, Cozy, Ciara, Reese, Aryka and Akasha. We will miss you Mom.
