Sharon Lee Bevacqua passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024 in Cape Coral, FL, surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was originally from Mount Vernon, NY, where she met the love of her life, John Bevacqua. Sharon and John grew up together on Crary Avenue and both attended Columbus Elementary School and AB Davis High School. They were married on May 29, 1965 and raised four children in East Northport, NY, Scarsdale, NY and Cheshire, CT. Sharon’s most treasured role was that of grandmother and great-grandmother to Jack, Nick, Ryan, Hailey, Jessica, Peter, James, Emma, Milani, Allyiana and Mia. She enjoyed spending time with friends and in recent years, displayed her athletic prowess on the Bocce courts of Cape Coral, FL. Sharon could frequently be found researching and sharing new recipes with friends and family. She also loved gardening and was a member of the Cheshire Garden Club. Sharon graduated with honors from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. She loved tutoring students in mathematics and assisting children with special needs. Sharon is survived by John Bevacqua and their children John Bevacqua Jr. (spouse Susanne Bevacqua), Michael Bevacqua, Jason Bevacqua and Amanda (Bevacqua) Cozzolino (spouse Peter Cozzolino), as well as brother Cliff Gibbs (spouse Arlene Gibbs), sister-in-law Rosemarie Langan (predeceased by spouse Timothy Langan) and her eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
