Salvatore Coniglio, age 89, was born on July 20, 1935 in Palermo, Sicily. He was born to Madelena and Paul Coniglio who had children Angie, Rose, Susan, Ann, Sr. Mary Timothy (Francesca), Sr. Mary Agnes (Josephine) and Gino. The eight siblings and parents immigrated to America together in 1946. Salvatore graduated Bronx vocational high school in NY. Joined army reserve upon graduating. He met Rose Legio at an Italian dance and it was love at first sight. They married in 1960 and they had two children Paul (married to Diana Belvedere Coniglio) and Madeliene (married to Anthony Fontanello). Grandchildren include Dana (Coniglio) Terrone, Anthony Fontanello, Salvatore Coniglio, Brianna Fontanello, and Michael Fontanello. His great grandchildren are Harper Coniglio, Emory Terrone, Sophia Coniglio, Adelaide Terrone and Baby Boy Terrone (due in August).
Salvatore was a great family man; loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and brother. He was a caretaker for anyone who needed him and always extended his help and prayers to family, friends, sisters and neighbors. You could always find Sal outside in his yard growing zucchini, tinkering in his garage or walking to IGA! He always kept busy and was working on projects. A devout Catholic and proud American, he was always ready to turn on the music and dance with a smile on his face.
