Rosemary Catherine Sieger passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024 at the age of 75. Born in the Bronx on October 29, 1949, to the late Leo and Mary Ruffino, Rosemary was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 53 years, Terrence, son Christopher, sister Susan, grandchildren Christopher and Leoluca and daughter in law Catherine. Rosemary is predeceased by her brother John.
A kind and gentle soul, Rosemary was selflessly devoted to her family and friends, past and present. She was a devoted daughter to her parents as well as a devoted daughter in law to “Popi Boomie”. Rosemary lived a once in a lifetime storybook romance with her husband Terrence, who she met when was only 15 years old. For 60 years, they were best friends, sharing unconditional love by each other’s side until the day she passed. Her sister Susan was only a baby when she met Terrence, and since that day, there was never a daily activity or special occasion that she and Terry didn’t involve their best friend Susie in. Rosemary and her sister spent countless hours together, many of them shopping for the ones they loved and making holidays and special occasions the most memorable. From the last generation of Italian American homemakers, Rosemary was a “mammoni” to her only son Christopher. She doted on him and provided for him her entire life. Rosemary and Terry never missed a baseball, soccer or basketball game of his growing up and continued to be an unwavering presence in his life until the day she passed. Later in life, her grandchildren Christopher, 7, and Leoluca, 4, were her true love and passion. She spent every waking moment cherishing and spoiling them. Everything and everyone took a backseat to them.
Rosemary was an amazing and precise baker. Along with her sidekick, Aunt Sue, she made every special occasion, the most special. Holidays will be sorely missed without Rosemary’s delicious cookies and pies. And every normal day going forward, there will be an unfillable void in all of her family’s lives. But Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain. Another Angel has gained her wings. May she be flying high above with Nanny, Popi Leo and Popi Boomie looking over us and may God Rest her Soul.
We ask that any donations be sent to St. Jude in Rosemary’s honor. A donation fund has been set up and the link can be found here:
