Rosalie Mirsky passed away April 22, 2020. Rosalie was born in 1931 in the Bronx and was a lifelong resident. Rosalie spent her career as a medical transcriptionist. She loved socializing with everyone she met. She was a lover of animals, especially cats. She rescued many cats throughout her life and was a big supporter of animal rights organizations. Rosalie was also a writer and poet and brought joy to many with her writings. She loved going to the R.A.I.N. Nereid Neighborhood Senior Center where she was made to feel special. Fiercely independent and feisty, she was a beloved aunt and is survived by her nieces, Kathy Mirsky-Mennella, Patricia Burns (husband Scott Burns), Debbie Jennings (husband Tim Jennings), Michael Mirsky, Audrey Mirsky-Ashby (husband Mark Ashby), Vivian Beale, and her nephew Larry Mirsky.
Due to the present pandemic a celebration of her life will be at a future date to be announced on the Yannantuono Funeral Home website. Please feel free to add photos and comments to her obituary on the funeral home website. For those who wish to make a donation in Rosalie's name the family suggests Operation Smile, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, or the ASPCA.
