Raymond “Sal” Campo was born in the Bronx, NY to Linda and Sebastiano Campo. He is survived by his wife, Debra Martucci-Campo, and his three daughters and their husbands, Adriana (Alex) Yankovich, Alena (Lawrence) Goldstein, and Andrea Campo.
Raymond graduated from Bedford Park Academy High School and attended Westchester Community College earning a degree in Engineering. He was truly a jack of all trades and took after his parent’s entrepreneurial spirit, owning several auto-sound and security businesses throughout his life. Ray loved his music — in fact, you could hear him coming from a block away. Everyone sought after his work — he was an innovator in the custom auto-security and sound industry. Later on, Ray transitioned to the financial sector, facilitating home mortgages throughout the tri-state area.
He loved to cook and barbecue with his family; in the old days — he loved his mother’s lasagna, and many will remember his famous rib recipe. However, in the past two years, he found a new love for plant-based foods and became proficient in vegan cooking. He also loved his animals — Whitey, Rusty, Mary, Mikey, Kiku, Hershey, Bono, Charlie, Oakley, Kashi, and Cali — having as many as four dogs at once.
Raymond was a problem solver and did not take “no” for an answer. He was always there for you if you had a problem — and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. Especially if it was a computer problem. If you asked him for advice, he could easily spend two hours reciting a dissertation.
Despite battling numerous health circumstances over the past several years, Raymond kept his faith and love for Jesus Christ, and proclaimed his healing. He was a faithful and active member in the church, and spent much of his free time listening and/or reading scripture. Despite his hard-passing exterior, he was a gentle-giant with a warm heart. He loved his family; he loved his animals; most of all, he loved Jesus.
