Piedade DeFreitas

Piedade DeFreitas of Mt. Vernon passed away on June 10, 2018.  Piedade was born Dec. 1, 1915 to Jose & Felicidade Pereira in Aguas Santas, Portugal.  She married Antonio DeFreitas on June 6, 1948.  They came to the United States in Dec. of 1958 and settled in Mt. Vernon.  Piedade worked in a hat factory in Mt. Vernon and later worked in food service for Endico Potatoes, retiring in 1977. She is survived by 4 sons, D. Nick DeFreitas and his wife Frances, Valentin DeFreitas, Michael DeFreitas and his wife Elizabeth, Alfred DeFreitas and his wife Donna and a sister Silvina Pereira.  Also survived by 6 grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband Antonio in 1996.
