Philomena Popoli passed away on January 22, 2021. She was born October 3rd, 1942 in Scranton, PA to Angelo and Mary Pompino. She married the love of her life Orazio Popoli on November 14, 1964. They moved to Mount Vernon, NY where they raised their children, Rocco, Tina and Roxann. Over the years Philomena worked hard and was active in her community. She was a beautician, owner of Popoli and Son Deli, a Mount Vernon School crossing guard and owner of Café Europa. Philomena was warm, compassionate, selfless and touched the hearts of so many people. She was always tried to make everyone smile whether it was by one of her funny jokes or insisting you eat even though we weren’t hungry. Her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Orazio, her children Rocco (Judy), Tina (Bobby), Roxann (Sabi), and her 10 grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew, Alyssa, Stephen, Isabella, Robert, Adrianna, Vincent, Kristofer and Elena. She is also survived by her sisters Maryanne Augustine (Kenny) and AnnMarie Ofcharsky (Larry) and many niece and nephews. A celebration of Philomena's life will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at Sts Peter and Paul Church at 10am.
