Peter Plati Obituary

Peter Plati of Mount Vernon passed away March 29, 2020. He was born April 30, 1961 in White Plains, N.Y. to Sadie (Spadaro) and Anthony Plati. Peter grew up attending St. John’s Elementary School until 8th grade and graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in 1979. He graduated from St. John Fisher College with dual degrees in Business Management and Communication in 1984. Peter was a devout Catholic who was very involved in Sts. Peter & Paul/St. Ursula Parish as well as the Knights of Columbus. He was the President of the Italian Civic Association and a proud member of the Kiwanis International Club. He always made time to be involved in the betterment of his community. Peter was the ultimate optimist and had an unprecedented sense of humor quit wit. Beloved husband of 31 years of Alison (Schneider) Plati;  loving father of Anthony, Michael and Christopher; dear brother of Toni Ann Plati and cherished son of Anthony Plati. He was predeceased by his mother Sadie (Spadaro) Plati. His family was most important to him and valued every aunt, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, nephew and friend. Peter was an avid Yankee fan his whole life and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He was adventurous and recently was learning how to operate motorboats. He will be loved and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Due to these uncertain times, we are unable to plan a wake or funeral service. When life returns to normal, we will have a memorial mass to celebrate his life.
