Nancy M. Mauro

Nancy M. Mauro of New Rochelle, NY and formerly of Mt. Vernon, NY passed away on December 16, 2021. She was born in Mt. Vernon on February 26, 1939 to Joseph and Annella Ruocco. Nancy was predeceased by her beloved husband Tony, in 1998, a son Anthony in 2008, and her son-in-law Angelo Costa in 2018. Nancy was also predeceased by her brothers Tony and Pant Ruocco, and her sister, Louise “GiGi” Castro. Nancy was a loving mother of Paul (Sunni) Mauro, Laura Costa and Annella (Chris) Mauro-Maselli, and a daughter in law Veronica (Ken); cherished grandmother of Anthony, P.J., Joseph, James, Francesca, Christopher, Amelia and Nicholas; dear sister of Marion Guarino. Nancy retired as Head Cook from Mt. Vernon High School, after 32 years. She was truly the happiest when spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, cooking and baking, especially her Christmas cookies. Family will honor Nancy’s life from 2 – 6 pm on Sunday December 19, 2021 at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home, 584 Gramatan Ave, Mt Vernon, NY 10552. Funeral Mass Monday 10 am at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
