Miguel Angel Gonzalez, 91, of Mount Vernon, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Miguel lived a full and remarkable life defined by his devotion to family, his talents, and his joyful spirit. He was a sweet and loving father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather and Miguel brought warmth and light to all who knew him. He had a lifelong passion for antique cars, the music of Felipe Rodriguez, and he cherished time spent with family and friends. Known for his sharp mind and practical skills, he could fix anything and had a gift for making those around him feel at ease and smile. As Michael Max said, "He was the greatest grandfather to ever walk the Earth."
Miguel is survived by his beloved wife, Aurea Gonzalez; his children Ana Gonzalez Ribeiro and her husband Sergio M. Ribeiro, Janet Gonzalez, Miguel Gonzalez Jr., and Jose Gonzalez; and his grandson Michael Max Ribeiro Gonzalez. He is also survived by stepchildren Rito Arroyo Jr. and his wife Isabel, with children Chabi, Rito III, Gloria, and Aderit; stepson Adalberto Arroyo, with grandchildren Exequiel, Daniel, Victoria, and Lisa; and stepdaughter Carmen Arroyo, with grandchildren Luis, John, Crystal, Maria, Angel, and Junito.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pilar Gonzalez, and his sister, Esther Gonzalez.
Miguel’s bright light here on earth continues to shine in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed and always lovingly remembered. Love you so much, Papi.
Siempre te voy a adorar Papi! Anita
