Marlene DeEsso

Marlene DeEsso, on the evening of May 29, 2024, was surrounded by her family when the Angels came down and carried her peacefully to Heaven. She was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on December 1, 1938 to Tilio and Barbara Giordano and remained a lifelong resident of Fleetwood, NY. 

Marlene is predeceased by her beloved husband Donald in 1985 and is the loving mother of Mitchell (Gina), John (Alfi), Donald (Jennie) and Lee; cherished grandmother of Josh (Christina), Lexi, Nina, Noelle and Nicholas. She is also survived by her sister Denise and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marlene worked many years for Sears and Roebucks in Mt. Vernon and over 15 years, to nearly 80 years of age in the Mt. Vernon School District at Lincoln School where she made many friends and had the pleasure of working with children. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and in her final years, she had the distinct pleasure of being assisted by her aid and friend, whom she lovingly referred to as “Houston''. Marlene and the family are truly blessed to have had her assistance, love and kindness and will be forever grateful.  Marlene will be remembered as a strong woman, who was straightforward and sincere and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family has requested that any floral arrangements be sent in the form of a floral basket and be sent directly to Sts. Peter & Paul Church at 129 Birch St., Mt. Vernon, NY 10552 by 10:00 am Thursday morning June 6, 2024. Thank you.
