Marguerite D. Nonni

Marguerite De La Mothe Nonni, age 91 of Mount Vernon, NY passed away April 9, 2021 at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY.

Visitation will be held at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, NY on April 15, 2021 from 3-7 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul and St. Ursula in Mount Vernon on April 16, 2021 at 9:30 am. Burial Services will follow shortly thereafter at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Pleasant Valley, NY.

Marguerite was born in NYC to George and Ruth De La Mothe on September 21, 1929.  Although she spent her first few years with her parents, she was raised in St. Michael’s Home in Staten Island, NY after her parents divorced.  She graduated from Cathedral High School and then began her first job at age 19 working at the Ideal Corporation—which is now part of Parker Hannafin.  Marguerite later married Hugo Nonni and raised six beautiful children together.

After retiring from Ideal, Marguerite started another career as an Executive Assistant at Cohen and Goldstein, a law firm in NYC, while managing a H&R Block tax office in Queens, NY.  She also dedicated more than 50 years of her life to community service through the Boy Scouts of America, working as an adult education instructor; a Commissioner of the Catholic Committee on Scouting; and an advisor to the American Indian Scouting Association; just to name a few.  She was also dedicated to on-going efforts of adult education and training programs and received many awards in this regard.  Growing up as a devout Catholic, she was a Eucharistic Minister in the Catholic Church for more than 20 years.

Marguerite is survived by five children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, four sisters, nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends.
