Margaret Moses Obituary

Margaret Rose Moses, of Mt. Vernon, NY passed away on September 20, 2021. She was born on October 29, 1938 and was the youngest of three daughters to the late Leslie Leopold Moses and Aneita Louise Brown. Hence the nickname “Baby Rose.”  Margaret was born on the beautiful Island of Jamaica, West Indies. She migrated to the United States in the 1960’s.  Margaret spent 30 plus years of her career in the fragrance industry working for Takasago International Corporation where she received the rare title of Senior Fragrance Evaluator. As senior Fragrance Evaluator, Margaret received many awards and traveled vastly. The most renowned being her trip to Japan, home of Takasago headquarters, returning with the Country Garden fragrance award.

Margaret was a loving Aunt to four nieces, Elizabeth McLachlan (deceased) and survived by, Judith Douglas (Laurence Douglas), Suzanne Rodriguez (Sean Rodriguez), Nicole Robinson (Dale Robinson).  And eight grand nieces and nephews – Jacqueline, Kyle, Darren, Sebastian, Sheyanne, Noelle, Nia and Simone. And two great grandnephews Bennett and Kamryn along with countless extended family members and friends.

Margaret was well loved and respected by her family, friends and church family. She was a dedicated and faithful servant of God which she embodied through her service in the church.  If you knew her, you would have known she was generous, regal, meticulous, traditional, kindhearted, genuine, a great sense of humor and a keen sense of smell.  She loved cross word puzzles, loved all sports, loved to dance, loved a good meal and especially a good drink with family and friends.

Margaret’s final words were, “I lived a full and content life with no regrets.” We are all grateful that she has touched our lives in an impactful way. Her memories will be cherished and her legacy will live on within all the lives she touched. Our last matriarch, the “Royal Queen” of our family is gone. Rest well in the sleep of peace with your parents, sisters, niece and friends.  Margaret is in very good hands now being immersed in and surrounded by God’s love. You will always live on in our hearts. May God’s perpetual light shine upon her.

Until we meet again “baby Rose” …
