Margaret DiLieto (aka Dee Dee) of North Haven CT, formerly of Mt Vernon entered into eternal rest on Friday August 20, 2021. Dee Dee was born in MT Vernon on February14 1932 to the late Antonio and Annunziata (nee Benvenuto) Spillo. She attended Mt Vernon Schools and was the beloved wife James DiLieto (Ret. MVPD). Dee Dee retired from the Board of Education as a food services worker at Mt Vernon High School. Prior to that, she worked in the dress industry. She is survived by several sisters in law Geneveve Spillo, Marilyn Percoco and Barbara Russo. She was the beloved Aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews, especially her great “fur” niece, Chloe, who she adored. Dee Dee was predeceased by her beloved husband James, sisters Mary Pacino, Carmella Genesi, Connie Luongo, Esther Antonaccio and her brothers, Frank and Angelo Spillo. She loved to play bingo and go to the casino, as well as watching Hallmark movies. A celebration of Dee Dee’s life will be held on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30am at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10am at Our Lady of Victory Church. Burial to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
