Luigi Petriello

Luigi Petriello of Mount Vernon NY passed away on May 1, 2024. Devoted husband of Eleonora Petriello; beloved father of Vito Petriello and his wife Christina and Sabatino Petriello and wife Melania; cherished grandfather of Sophia, Francesca, Luigi and James Petriello. Dear brother of Joseph (Angela) and Pasqua Valvano (Angelo) and brother-in-law to Rosetta Sgobbo-Cipriano, Domenico Cipriano, Giuseppina  Sgobbo-Maiorano and Rocco Maiorano. Loving uncle of Feleciano , Maria , Brigida Valvano and Monicia,  Isabella, and Linda Cipriano, and Simona , and Erika Maiorano. Great Uncle to Melina, Angelo, Valentina, Iliaria, Noemi, Alica, and Lilly. Luigi was born on February 10, 1946 in Guardia Dei Lombardi, Italy to Vito Petriello and Brigida Salerno. He learned to be a carpenter and became a Master Carpenter.  Luigi met Eleonora Sgobbo fell in love, got married and came to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream. Once he got here, he immediately went to work within the trade that he learned as a carpenter. He was an active member of the Carpenters Union. Luigi spent countless hours volunteering at the Guardia Dei Lombardi Associations. He would always reflect and cherish the fond memories.  Luigi enjoyed spending time in his garden, dancing la tarantella, but he mostly loved spending time with his grandchildren.
