Lorna Stewart (née Buschel), born March 21, 1947, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026. She was a cherished Nonna, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lorna was born in Long Island, New York to Lawrence and Sylvia Buschel and was the beloved baby sister of Thomas and the late Richard Buschel. She graduated from Hewlett High School and went on to dedicate 25 years of service to Westchester Heart in New Rochelle.
A devoted member of the St. Mary’s Church family in Mount Vernon, Lorna was also a proud Secular Franciscan whose faith was an important part of her life.
Lorna found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and friends. She loved vacationing in Aruba, relaxing at the beach, and enjoying the occasional casino trip. Above all else, she treasured cheering on her grandson Justin at his baseball games, moments that meant the world to her.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas Buschel (Lois), her daughters, Alyssa Stewart-Young (Michael) and Kristin Stewart; and her beloved grandson, Justin Owens.
