Karl J. Hormann

Karl J. Hormann, born on February 8, 1941, the son of the late Berta Wekerle & Bela Hormann.  He departed this earthly life on Friday December 16, 2022 at the age of 81. 

He is survived by his wife, Antonia Hormann of 53 years, their two children: Karl Hormann of Mount Vernon, NY (wife Emina and children Nicole and Michael) and Cindy Savino of Shelton, CT ( husband Joseph and children Joseph, Marisa and Emma); as well as brother Bela Hormann (wife Erzi) and a loving extended family.

Karl emigrated from Hungary to the United States in 1967.   Shortly after arriving in America, Karl met Antonia in an English speaking class.  They married and had two children, Karl and Cindy.  He became a skilled machinist and fulfilled the American dream of starting his own business by opening his own Machine Shop in Mount Vernon, NY.  His son Karl joined him as a partner shortly after he graduated college.  Together they built a successful, thriving business.

Kerl enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He also loved the outdoors.  When his children were young, he enjoyed taking them fishing, sailing, hiking and skiing.  He also enjoyed hunting with family and friends and rarely missed opening day.  He was an active person who enjoyed his work, exercising at the gym and spending time at his property in Kerhonkson, NY.  He will truly be missed and never forgotten.
