Joseph Lifrieri, 95, of Yonkers, was called home to God on March 29, 2020. He was born on March 19, 1925, in White Plains, to Michael and Anna Lifrieri. Joseph was a devout catholic who attended mass daily. He devoted his life to serving our Lord, and his family. At age 17, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He proudly served his country from 1942-1945. On June 6th, 1944 Joe participated in the Allied D-Day invasion, at Normandy France. On September 11, 1949. He married the love of his life, Eleanor, at Our Lady of Victory Church, Mt.Vernon. They shared 71 wonderful years together. Joe was a long-time resident of Mt.Vernon, where he raised his six children. He is survived by his wife Eleanor, and his children; Lynne, Laurie, Dennis, Joann, and Karen. He was predeceased by his daughter Lydia. Joe was a wonderful man, who was very generous throughout his life to numerous charitable causes. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was truly a member of the greatest generation
