Joseph Farda

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Joseph “Joe” Farda, who passed away on March 14, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by the love of his family. Joe was born on October 28, 1933, in Harlem, New York, and was a proud graduate of Iona College, Class of 1950.

Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Known for his sarcastic wit and effortless humor, he brought laughter and warmth to everyone around him. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, an Italian importer for Colavita, the beloved host of “The Italian American Music Hour,” and the proud owner of Lenny’s Clam Bar in Yonkers, where he shared his love of community, food, and culture.

Joe is survived by his four children: Valentino (Marissa) Farda, Nicholas (Diann) Farda, Jody (Tito) Melendez, and Anna (Steven) Veteri; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his brother-in-law, Louis (Josephine) Sansano. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carmela (Sansano) Farda, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage and a lifetime of love.

As childhood sweethearts, Joe and Carmela built a life filled with love, family, tradition, travel, and card games. They made their home in Westchester, New York, proudly carrying on their Italian-American culture and values. Joe also enjoyed traveling the world, relaxing with a good cigar, and visiting Burger King, his favorite place for morning coffee and a bite to eat with his buddies.

May Joe rest in eternal peace, reunited with his beloved Carmela. His life was a blessing, and his memory, along with his humor, warmth, and love, will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
