John Anthony Gabbamonte

John A. Gabbamonte, age 67, of South River, peacefully passed away after a long illness on Monday, October 4, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY to the late Frank and Anne Gabbamonte, John was raised in The Bronx before moving back to Mt. Vernon when he was first married. He then moved to South River and raised his own family where he has lived since 1995. After receiving his BBA in Accounting from Iona College, John worked as an accountant for many years before realizing that his talents lied elsewhere. He returned to school for IT and has since worked for Verizon in Wayne as a Data Processor.

John had many interests outside of work but his greatest passion was as lead guitarist for the Rush Tribute band Trinity. He truly loved his wife and 2 children and will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years Jackie Gabbamonte of South River, his 2 loving children John and Lauren Gabbamonte, both of South River, and his brother Frank Gabbamonte of FL.
