John Paul Ferrara, 78, of Mount Vernon, NY, passed away peacefully on March 26 th ,
2025.
John Paul was born on November 29 th , 1946, to Rose and Anthony in Mount Vernon,
NY. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and godfather.
After John Paul graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1964, he went on to
honorably serve in the Army, “First Cav,” from February 8 th , 1966 to February 7 th , 1968.
In 1968, John met Celina, they married August 7 th , 1971. John and Celina went on to
have 2 children, Stephen and Robert.
In 2012, John Paul retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier after more
than 50 years of service and spent his time enjoying his favorite sports teams, the NY
Yankees, Rangers, and Giants, listening to Do Wop classics, eating his Saturday night
steak with a glass or two of red wine, spending time with his wife, and telling stories to
his five grandchildren.
John Paul was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Celina, son’s
Stephen (Melissa) and Robert (Jennifer), five grandchildren, Anna Rose, Joseph, Lia,
Matthew, & Tommy, brother Michael, sister Terry (Steve), and nieces and nephew.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life on Saturday, March 29 th , 2025,
from 2 pm – 6 pm at Yannantuono, Burr, Davis, Sharpe Funeral home in Mount Vernon,
NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior
Project.
