Humbelina Ayala

With deep love and gratitude for her life, the family of Humbelina Ayala announces her passing on September 2, 2025, at the age of 99. Humbelina passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Peru, Humbelina was the beloved daughter of Cecilio and Clara Custodio. She immigrated to the United States in 1963 with her children in search of new opportunities and a better life. A devoted Christian, Humbelina’s faith guided her every step, and she lived a life marked by kindness, humility, and a strong devotion to family. Though petite in stature, she carried a heart of gold bigger than her body, evident in the love and care she shared with everyone around her.

Humbelina treasured the simple joys in life—sharing a sugar donut with her family, celebrating the birthdays of others, listening to music, and reading. Her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel Ayala, her sons, Daniel and Hector Almeyda, and her siblings—two brothers and one sister.

Humbelina is survived by her daughter Luisa, who lovingly cared for her, along with nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and her beloved nieces and nephews.

Her family will remember her as a woman of faith, love, and resilience—a constant source of wisdom, joy, and warmth—whose legacy will live on through the generations she nurtured.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization close to Humbelina’s heart.
