Henrique “Ricky” Frison Mariusso was known for his big heart, bright mind, and joyful
spirit. Best described as an old soul, Henrique spent his time building meaningful connections
with others through his playfulness, while maintaining his deep insight of empathy and
understanding that made a difference in so many others’ lives.
Although Henrique lived his life as a dreamer, full of passion, his big heart was no match
for the disease of addiction. Sadly, Henrique, age 39, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
Henrique Frison Mariusso was born to Monica Cruz Frison Mariusso and Rogerio Barbosa
Mariusso on November 19 th , 1983 in Sao Jose dos Campos, SP Brazil. Despite being born a
Paulista, he was raised a Mineiro, in the town of Pocos de Caldas MG Brazil alongside his sister
Priscilla Berry [nee Mariusso].
In his early teens, he immigrated with his parents and sister to Mount Vernon, NY, USA where
he resided until his death. He gained respect from many for his talent and expertise within the
HVAC industry. Following his father’s lead, Henrique trained many of today’s HVAC
technicians throughout Westchester.
Henrique was blessed with an incredibly close and supportive family. He married his childhood
friend and neighbor Fabiola Lopes on May 4 th , 2018, in his hometown of Pocos de Caldas.
Henrique became a stepfather to Rafael Lopez de Carvalho.
Outwardly, Henrique seemed to have it all; blessed with a close and supportive family,
intelligence, talent, clever wit, handsomeness and the ability to engage and forge a relationship
with anyone. Being an old soul he loved all the great classic rock and roll bands like The Rolling
Stones, Guns and Roses, Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin to just name a few. He
was also passionate about riding motorcycles, and go kart racing. To all these passions, he
excelled greatly.
Henrique had a heart of gold, and he was incredibly good to others. He battled drug addiction all
throughout his life, and unfortunately lost this battle due to a drug overdose. Throughout this
tumultuous journey he acquired wisdom and many treasures, which he was always ready and
willing to share.
We are speaking the truth about his death, hoping that it can help raise awareness to the global
drug epidemic which continues to take the lives of our loved ones. Silence would mean
Henrique’s death was in vain. We know the pain of his suffering in his efforts to stay clean and
sober. We remain steadfast and extremely comforted that he is finally at peace.
In addition to his parents and sister, Henrique leaves behind; his grandmothers-Maria Cruz and
Gilda Mariusso; uncles-Wilson Frison and Rowilson Mariusso; brother-in-law, Johann Berry;
two nieces Imani Berry and Claire Berry; and one nephew, Liam Berry.
May his soul be blessed. Rest in Power Dear Henrique
