In Loving Memory of Giacomo Vinciguerra
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Giacomo Vinciguerra, who departed this world on October 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and cherished memories. Born on February 12, 1936, in Maddaloni, Caserta, Italy, to Giuseppe and Maria Vinciguerra, Giacomo came to the United States in 1959 in search of a better life for himself and his beloved wife, Alfonsina DeRosa Vinciguerra, who preceded him in death. Giacomo is survived by his five children: Joseph (Kathleen), Maria (Salvatore), Anthony (Maria), Clement (Mary), and Jack. His legacy continues through his 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and his siblings Antonio (Jacqueline), Caterina (Amodeo), and sister-in-law Antonia. A man of integrity and hard work, Giacomo spent many years as a laborer and took pride in everything he did. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—tending to his garden, bowling, and the occasional visit to the casino. Above all, his greatest passion was playing bocce. He spent countless hours at Hartley Park in Mount Vernon, surrounded by his bocce family, doing what he loved most. Giacomo will be deeply missed by his lifelong neighbors and dear friends from Fulton Avenue, who were like family to him. He especially loved celebrating holidays and special occasions with his family, creating traditions and memories that will be carried on for generations. Giacomo has now found eternal peace. May his loved ones find comfort in the beautiful memories he leaves behind, and may his spirit continue to live on in the laughter, stories, and traditions shared by all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by love.
