Geraldine DiSanto

Geraldine (Sicuranza) DiSanto, 76, of Eastchester, New York, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2020. Gerry was born in Guardia Lombardi, Italy, where she grew up and met her husband, Michael, in first grade.  She emigrated to the United States when she was 13 years old and was reunited with Mike at the Guardia Lombardi annual picnic in 1962.  They were married in 1965 in Mt. Vernon then later moved to Eastchester in 1975 where they raised their family. Gerry worked as a beloved crossing guard for the Tuckahoe school district until she retired.  She loved to cook, garden, gather on Wednesday nights for big family dinners, winter in Florida, spend time with her family and friends.  She also loved to play the slots with her sister, Rose, and the highlight was hitting the Florida jackpot.  She and her sister, Nina, were frequent guests on the Martha Stewart show where they showed off their cooking skills. Annual family traditions included jarring tomatoes and baking Christmas cookies.  She loved to attend her grandchildren’s sports, performances, celebrations and school events. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Vincenzo and Filomena.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Mike, her three children Carmine (Patricia) DiSanto, Michael (Felisa) DiSanto, Annette (Robert) Hawkins; her seven grandchildren – Jonathan, Michael, Justin, Alicia, Jacqueline, Andrew and Marley; her beloved siblings – Nina (Larry) Scavone, Angelo (Donna) Sicuranza, Rose (John) Antonelli; many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. Visitation at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home (584 Gramatan Avenue, Mt. Vernon, NY 10552) on Monday, August 10th 8:30 – 10:00 am followed by a funeral mass at Immaculate Conception Church (53 Winter Hill Road, Tuckahoe, NY 10707) at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New York-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital’s Cancer Center, in memory of Geraldine DiSanto.
