Gabriel Franco Obituary

Gabriel was predeceased by his wife Frances Franco. He is survived by his loving daughter Donna, granddaughter Dara and husband Ted. Also by his son John, wife Kathleen, and their children Matthew & Mark.

Gabe was born in Manhattan NY and raised in the Bronx. He spent the better part of his life in Mount Vernon, NY alongside his devoted wife of 62 years. Gabe and Frances were an inseparable couple, one completing the other. In life and in death, their beautiful marriage will be remembered and adored by their loving family.

As a young adult, Gabe proudly served in the U.S Navy, on the U.S.S Boston. He often spoke of his Navy days and shared stories such as how he met Frances.  His career path was in the printing industry as a Lithographer and he taught his trade as a professor in the Union school. Later in life he enjoyed playing Bocci and competed in many tournaments with friends.

He was devoted to his Catholic religion and faith, spent many years as a Eucharistic Minister and was also part of the church choir.

Gabe was a devoted husband, an amazing father and grandfather, and a good friend to many. He exemplified what it means to be a supportive and reliable individual. Gabe was patient and kind, and you could always count on him to bring joy to the room, be it through his uplifting personality, humorous comments or cheerful singing. Gabe was a happy and positive man and he will be missed dearly and remembered for all the light he brought to this world. We will carry him in our hearts forever.
