Franklin D. Hunt

Franklin Delano Hunt was born in Kingston, Jamaica on March 14, 1947 and raised by his Mother, Ms. Edna Smith. He accepted Christ at an early age.  After his schooling, he met and fell in love with the woman to be his wife, Dorrelle Theresa Grandison, while working at the Hilo Supermarket in Halfway Tree, Kingston. They were married on July 18, 1970.  Their first born, Nadine Michelle Hunt, was born in Jamaica. Thereafter, the family immigrated to the United States of America, where their second child, Michael Lamont Hunt, was born.  Mr. Hunt was employed for over four decades by Food City Super Market. He retired and later passed away at the family home in Mount Vernon, New York. He is survived by his former wife, Dorrelle Hunt; his daughter, Nadine Hunt-Robinson (Tyrone); his son, Michael Hunt, Sr. (Danielle); and his two grandsons, Michael Hunt, Jr. and Mali K.H. Robinson.  After a long bout with cancer, he passed away on Jamaica’s Emancipation Day. A fitting tribute to his legacy.
