Frances Scerbo Brown, 91, of New Rochelle, NY, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026. She was born on January 25, 1934, in New York, NY.
Frances raised her family in Mount Vernon, NY, where she devoted herself to creating a loving and steady home. Later in life, she moved to New Rochelle, where she continued to enjoy time with family and the routines that brought her comfort and joy. She especially loved playing bingo and crocheting, spending many hours creating pieces that reflected her patience, creativity, and care.
Known for her quick wit and sharp sense of humor, Frances always had something clever to say. She was a devoted New York Mets fan (and a proud Yankee hater) never missing an opportunity to make her loyalty known.
Frances was predeceased by her beloved husband, Terrence Brown, whom she married on February 4, 1956, as well as by her son, Terrence “Sonny” Brown. She is survived by her children Linda Brown Guy, Deborah Brown Crump, William Brown, and Michael Brown. She was one of three children. Frances was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren, a great-grandmother to 19 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandmother to 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy lives on through the many generations she loved and nurtured.
Frances will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, her loyalty, and the deep love she shared with all who knew her.
