Florence Postighone nee Guarino passed away peacefully in her home in Delray Beach, Florida at the age of 103 born and raised in Newark New Jersey. She was the 8th child among thirteen siblings of Rose and Frank Guarino. She graduated from Behringer high school and earned her RN degree from Newark City hospital school of nursing. In World War II. She joined the US Navy and became an Ensign in charge of the hospital in New Orleans dedicated to receiving the wounded from battle during World War II. There she met and married Anthony Postighone who was enlisted in the US Coast Guard. After marriage, they resided in Mount Vernon, New York. There she continued her career at Mount Vernon Hospital and raised four sons, Neil, Peter, Paul, and Anthony. Her entrepreneurial talents did not end there. Again, they were portrayed when she and her husband started a new business. It was called An-Flo interiors. It developed into a trusted and well respected floor covering establishment. After her husband’s death, she moved to Delray Beach Florida and lived with her son Paul who care for her until her death. It was Paul’s loving care that made her last years comfortable and happy. Florence was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and was and will be missed by her entire family.

An after funeral lunch in memory of Florence will be held at Buon Amici Italian Restaurant, 238 Central Ave., White Plains, NY 10606
