Concetta (Etta) Pisano, a long-time resident of Mt. Vernon, entered into eternal rest at the age of 99 on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. She died of natural causes. She was born in Mt. Vernon on September 10, 1920, to August and Theresa (Domato) Carfano.
Etta is predeceased by her husband, Louis Pisano, whom she married on October 18, 1947, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Mt. Vernon. In addition to being a devoted and loving wife and a kind and caring mother of two daughters, she enjoyed reading, baking, cooking, playing cards, shopping with her sister Rosemarie, who was also her best friend, and, most of all, spending time with her family. She was a gentle, humble and quiet person. A family member recently recalled that Etta was such a lovely person, with a wonderful smile, who found a place in all of our hearts.
Etta is survived by her devoted daughters, Angela Kelly (Thomas) and Marguerita McLoone; six endearing grandchildren, Scott Kelly (Paula), Brian Kelly (Aileen), Meghan McLoone Johnston (Benjamin), Craig Kelly (Lauren), Kaitlin McLoone, and Kerriann McLoone; and five special great grandchildren, Rory Johnston, Oliver Kelly, Colby Johnston, Hazel Kelly and Nathaniel Kelly. She is predeceased by her three siblings, John Carfano, August Carfano and Rosemarie DiSabato.
Etta always enjoyed being surrounded by children. In her memory, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org.
