Emanuela Lonardo

Emanuela Lonardo, 80, passed away on October 12, 2022.  She is survived by her children Elvira Gibaldi and her husband Christopher, Marisa Lonardo-Xu and her husband Ke, and her daughter Nicole.  Emanuela is also survived by her brother Francesco, sister Anna Esposito and in-laws Guido Lonardo, Clarice Branca, Marisa Noe, Rosalba Quagliara, Agnese Al-Chalati and Linda Lonardo.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Giuseppe, her parents Giovanni Esposito, Nicolina D'Aiello, and her brothers Giuseppe and Alessandro.

Emanuela was born in Naples, Italy.  She worked in the post office in Italy before immigrating to New York in 1978.  She was also a trained seamstress and would make original Halloween costumes for her children.  Emanuela loved making traditional Italian meals for her family and especially for her grandchildren.  She loved to garden as evidenced by the annual display of flowers around her home.   In New York, Emanuela worked in a school preparing meals for staff and children.  She realized her dream of becoming a US citizen in January 2020.  In her last years, Emanuela's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren Benjamin, Rocco, Giuseppe, Antonella and Victoria.
