Elena M. D'Amico

Elena D’Amico a lifelong resident of Mt. Vernon, NY passed away on September 12, 2022, at the
age of 85. Her school and church growing up was Our Lady of Victory in Mount Vernon, where she
received all her sacraments. Elena was predeceased by her husband, John F. D’Amico, Sr. They
were happily married for over 56 years. She was one of two daughters of the late Lauretta and
Francesco.

Elena was a loving wife, sister, sister-in-law, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sister,
Lucy, her sister-in-law Mary, her three sons, John Jr. (Allison), Nicholas (Laura), and Laurence
(Sarah) and granddaughter, Christina.  She was a proud aunt of her nieces and nephews (Francine,
Joyette and Armand.
Elena was a parishioner of Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Mount Vernon.  She was an active volunteer
for the school and parish. She co-founded the Senior Leisure Club of Sts. Peter and Paul Church
which she directed for over 25 years. She also worked for the Bronx Westchester Community
Awareness Program, sponsored New York State that supported the lower Westchester County and
Bronx areas for several years.
Her true love was her husband and 3 boys. She exemplified this with her dedication of all the food,
nurturing, parties and the desire of simply being with them. She cherished being with her 4 men and enthusiastically
waiting for others to walk through the door.
Anyone who met Elena, knew how important her family, faith and community were to her.
We should all be grateful that we got to know and love our sister in Christ, Elena. We should be
especially thankful for all the angels that ushered her into Heaven.
Visitation will be at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home at 584 Gramatan Avenue in
Mount Vernon, N.Y. on September 18, 2022.  A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Victory in
Mt. Vernon, N.Y.  on September 19, 2022.  Interment will be held at Beechwood Cemetery in New
Rochelle, N.Y.
