Eleanor A. Cappello

Eleanor A. Cappello of Mt. Vernon passed away on January 30, 2020. She was born in Mt. Vernon on November 19, 1929 to Anthony and Felice (Lepore) Patulo. Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Orlando J. Cappello. She was predeceased by her son William and her daughter Felice Marie, a brother Domenic Patulo and sisters Susan Landy and Josephine DeLuccia. Eleanor retired after 26 years as a secretary for Commercial Decal, Inc. She enjoyed needlepoint, embroidery and various hand crafts. At the age of 80 she began to paint miniatures, some of which were framed and given to family and friends. Eleanor and her husband enjoyed vacationing in Montauk, NY and Newport, RI by the ocean. She loved animals and worked tirelessly to feed and rescue abandoned cats and dogs, many of which were welcomed into her home. Eleanor will be missed by all who knew her, especially her loving nieces and nephews. Family will honor Eleanor on Sunday February 2, 2020 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home, 584 Gramatan Ave, Mt. Vernon, NY 10552. Funeral service 10:30 am Monday February 3, 2020 also at the funeral home. Entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to:
