Dominick Anthony Martimucci

September 30, 1925 – January 27, 2022 (age 96)

Dominick Anthony Martimucci passed away on January 27, 2022 in Fort Myers, Florida.  He was born on September 30, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Pasquale and Mary Martimucci of Altamura, Italy.  Soon after Dominick was born, the family moved to Mount Vernon, New York where he was a long-time resident.

Dominick graduated from Edison High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces (December 1943-January 1946).  He served in France and Germany from November 1944 until June 1945 in a tank destroyer unit.  In July of 1945 until the end of his tenure, he served as a qualified Army fireman.  Dominick was proud of his service and received the American Campaign Medal, European Theater Ribbon with Bronze Battle Stars, and the World War 2 Victory Medal.

Dominick joined the Mount Vernon Police Department in 1947, and in 1955 he became owner of the Martimucci Fuel Oil Company until he retired in 1990.

Dominick was known for his dedication to family and friends, great sense of humor, love for music (especially Frank Sinatra and the big bands) and dancing. He was a devoted member of the Buoncammino Society.

Dominick is predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Angelina (Donvito) and is survived by his son, Pat Martimucci of Florida, and his daughter, Marilyn Vitale of Rome, Italy.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Laura Webb, Dominick, and Steven Martimucci, two great grandchildren, Christian and Gabriel Webb, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 


Services:  Family will receive friends at the Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe funeral home in Mount Vernon on Sunday, February 6 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, February 7 at 10AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
