David J. Feldman, 94, of Mt. Vernon, beloved husband of Margaret "Peggy" (Schwabe) Feldman, passed away on May 16, 2020. He was born on August 11, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Samuel and Fannie (Greenman) Feldman. After graduating from Boys High School, Brooklyn, NY, Dave proudly served in the US Navy on board the USS Moale. After serving his country he earned a B.A. degree in Education from Brooklyn College and a Master's degree in Education from NY City College. He worked as the Physical Education Director of the Mt. Vernon YM & YWHA for 35 years. Dave was an accomplished musician, playing classical trumpet concertos as well as his favorite Louie Armstrong arrangements. His talents included the art of Bonsai gardening and woodcarving. He also spent time fishing and camping through out the US. He was predeceased by his daughter Julie Feldman. He is survived by his wife Margaret "Peggy" Feldman; his daughter Diane Walsh and her husband Matthew; his daughter Nell Hallonquist; his son Martin Feldman and his wife Wendy. His grandchildren Neil, Bert and Kirk Hallonquist, Robert and Bridget Walsh, and Otto and Axel Feldman; his great grantchildren Nolan, Keegan and Roselind Hallonquist and Scarlett Walsh. A memorial and celebration of his life will take place at the discretion of the family.
