Charles J. Sloat died peacefully in his home on December 7, 2020 in Mount Vernon, NY. He was just a few weeks shy of his 79th birthday. Charles was born to Josephine Lagonegro on December 24th, 1941 in White Plains, NY. The family moved to Peekskill, NY where he grew up with his two sisters, Madeline and Violet. Mr. Sloat served as a proud member of the Marines and was honorably discharged in July of 1960. Shortly after, he met his wife Angela M. Cioppa. They were married in June of 1965 and remained together until Angela’s death in September of 2019. Mr Sloat was a devoted husband and father to his two son’s Charles Jr. and Anthony. He was the proud grandfather to CJ and Jimmy Sloat. He and his wife Angela, attended every concert, play, and ceremony until it became physically and medically impossible. When Angela fell ill, Charles became her cheerleader, advocate, and remained faithfully by her side until her passing. Under the current conditions, there will be no funeral service, but it is hoped that there will be a future gathering where his memory and legacy can be properly honored. For now, Charles has been reunited with his wife on their journey through eternity. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
