Celestina B. Correia

Celestina B. Correia of Yonkers, age 87, went home to be with Our Lord on Sunday August 15, 2021. After suffering a long illness, and while under the care of her family and hospice, she peacefully fell asleep in her earthly home, during the early morning of the Feast Day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Celestina was born on July 4, 1934, to Celestino and Alice Barao in Carvalhal Meao, Portugal. She married Pedro Correia from Fornos de Algodres 59 years ago, in Lisbon, on November 5th 1961. Then they later moved to New York.  Beloved wife of Pedro; loving mother of Nelson (Noelma) Correia, Walter (Kathy) Correia and Elizabeth (Scott) Neale; cherished grandmother of Victoria, Stephanie and Erika. Also survived by her siblings Guilhermina “Fernanda” dos Santos and Manuel (Maria) Fernandes and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and four siblings, Mary R. de Freitas, Irene Santos, Cesar Barao and Ramiro Barao. May Celestina Rest in Peace.
