Carolino Mendes Obituary

Carolino Augusto de Freitas Mendes, 79, of Mount Vernon, passed away at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Carolino was born on February 2, 1944, in Lagoas, Valpaços, Portugal to João Baptista Mendes and Maria dos Anjos Freitas.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maria dos Santos Mendes; his daughter Ana Cristina (Scott) Mabry of Blytheville, AR; his son Nelson Mendes of Yonkers, and two grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah.

A funeral mass will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 30th at Our Lady of Victory Church in Mount Vernon. Father Joseph will officiate.
