August J Vettorino

AUGUST J. VETTORINO, 67, beloved husband of Joyce Gherardi Vettorino, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Augusta University Medical Center.

A native of Mt. Vernon, NY, August was a son of the late August and Rose Premuto Vettorino.  He started and ran a successful mechanical contracting company in New York for over 40 years.   Augie developed a horse farm in Aiken SC. in 2003 and was active in the local eventing and jumper shows.  He also competed in marathons and ironman competitions and in recent years developed a passion for flying.  He has spent the last several years between homes in Aiken and Connecticut.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Joyce, include his son Michael (Alexandria), New Jersey; daughter, Cristen Forma (Joseph) New Hampshire;
granddaughter, Camilla Forma; sister, Joanne Hanig, New York; brother, Anthony Vettorino, New York. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105 or North Shore Animal League 25 Davis Ave, Port Washington, NY 11050.
