Aspasia Mourges, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at her daughter’s home in North Carolina. She was 87 years old.
Born on June 22, 1937, in Kalamata, Greece, Aspasia’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and family. In July of 1963, she embarked on a new chapter, arriving in America by boat with her dreams and hopes for the future. She married her husband, Vageli, in December of 1961, and together they built a life centered on love and devotion. Vageli preceded her in death, but his memory lived on through their shared legacy.
Aspasia is survived by her two children, Valerie (married to Dan) and Constantine (with his life partner, Steven). She was the cherished grandmother of Sia and Ian, who brought her immense joy and pride. Aspasia’s strength, grace, and unwavering dedication to her family will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, honoring her strength and courage.
