It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Antonietta Farina (Saccone), 86 of Mount Vernon. She passed peacefully on May 1st, 2021. Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and much loved friend was born on March 20th, 1935 in Abruzzo, Italy (Villa Santa Maria, Chieti) to her parents Oreste and Giovanna Saccone. Antonietta was predeceased by her husband Luigi in December of 1984, her brother Francesco and sister Filomena and her niece Teresa. She will be forever cherished and remembered by her children: Three sons Carlo, Oreste, Gino (Milena), two daughters, Margaret (Franco) and Joanne (Tony); her grandchildren: Francesca and Michael, and her sister: Felicetta. She was a devoted wife and homemaker, always putting her children first and cared for them deeply. She loved to cook and was known for her delicious food, preparing three course meals for her family. She enjoyed Italian music, growing vegetable and flower gardens, baking, sewing, doing word search puzzles, knitting, and having family gatherings. She also was a devoted Catholic who attended mass regularly. She will be greatly missed. Heaven gained another angel.
