Anthony F. Plati, 86, of Briarcliff Manor passed away on April 4, 2020.He was born April 8, 1933 in New Rochelle, N.Y. to Peter and Anna (Mamone) Plati. Anthony graduated from New Rochelle high school and soon after was drafted and served in the U.S. Army. After he completed his tour of duty, he received an Honorable Discharge.
Upon his return from service, he was employed by Firestone where he met and later married the “love of his life”, Sadie Spadaro. He later ventured out on his own, along with his brother and became the President of Tee Pee Tires, a family owned business in New Rochelle. Anthony also worked and retired from the US Postal Service.
Anthony was a quiet, kind and compassionate man who had an infectious smile. He truly loved his family and loved spending time with everyone. He was also known for his love of sports, watching national geographic on TV, taking long car rides into the countryside to find roadside fruit/vegetable stands, he enjoyed word search books and lottery scratch off tickets.
He is survived by his loving and devoted daughter Toni Ann Plati, beloved daughter-in-law Alison Plati, and his pride and joy, grandsons, Anthony, Michael and Christopher Plati. He is also survived by his brother Peter (Connie) Plati. In addition, he loved all family members, sisters-in-laws, brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Sadie Plati and son, Peter Plati. Also, preceded by his mother and father, Peter and Anna Plati, Dominick Plati, Catherine Plati Carideo and Gilda Plati.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will miss and love him always.
Due to these uncertain times, we are unable to plan a wake or funeral service. When life returns to normal, we will have a memorial mass to celebrate his life.
