Anna Benedettini

Anna (Beccari) Benedettini passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. She was 88 years old. Born on November 9, 1932, in Serravalle, Republic of San Marino (Italy), Anna lived with her mother, Maria, father, Aurelio, brothers Marino, Giovanni, Giuseppe, and sisters Anita, Mariarosa and Marisa. She met the love of her life, Ferrante, in 1954. Her sister Anita had shown him a photo of Anna. He arrived in Serravalle on his Lambretta with a bouquet of white flowers, and they began dating. Two weeks later, he proposed and they married on March 2, 1954. Ferrante emigrated to New York after the wedding, and Anna joined him two years later. They lived in New York City, and started a family. In 1962, they moved to Mount Vernon, NY, to raise their children. Anna was a skilled seamstress, and a wonderful cook. She was an expert knitter and was renowned for her afghan skills. Anna was predeceased by her husband Ferrante, her grandson Nicholas, her brothers and sister Anita. She is survived by her children, Alexander (Lisa), Robert (Maria), Barbara D’Avella (Lucio), and Elizabeth Larkin (Conal), her grandchildren, Robert, Jillian, Samantha D’Avella, Michael D’Avella, Emily Larkin, James Larkin, William, Nicolette and her great-grandson Dominick Linkowski, and many nieces and nephews. Anna died on her 67th wedding anniversary, and we firmly believe that dad got impatient waiting for her and came to get her, on his Lambretta with a bouquet of white flowers. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, March 7, at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home from 2-6 to p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 8, at Sts. Peter and Paul and St. Ursula Church. Entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
