Angelo M. Popoli of Mt. Vernon was born on March 17, 1933 in Guardia di Lombardi, Italy to
Pasquale and Angela Maria Popoli, and passed away December 21, 2023, at the age of 90.
Angelo is predeceased by his beloved wife Caterina in 2016. He is the father of Angela (Rocco)
Fuschetto and Pat (Mena) Popoli, and the grandfather of 8 grandchildren – Siobhan (Tommy)
Howley, Ashley Popoli, Amanda Popoli, Noel (Franzi) Broeckl-Popoli, Chelsea (Omar) Popoli-Reyes,
Raphaela Parisi (Matt), Joseph Fuschetto (Chelsea), Michael (Gina) Fuschetto; and 9 great-
grandchildren – Caterina, Colton, Zara, Stella, Ezri, Logan, Luca, Benedetta, and Anthony; dear brother of Geraldine (Angelo) Riccio.
Angelo came to America in 1962 and worked for Labriola Landscaping, later moving on to work for
Coviello Construction, while starting his own landscape business on the side. Eventually, he grew his
business, left Coviello Construction, and started Popoli Construction with his son Pat. A strong,
proud individual, he was respected in his industry, and loved by his family.
Angelo was widely known for his sense of humor, charismatic personality, and stories and lessons
from his early life back home in Italy. He had the ability to make a friend everywhere he went, and
never failed to leave a lasting impression.
