Adelina DiMatteo of Mount Vernon, NY passed away on May 24, 2021. She was born on December 2, 1919 in Guardia Lombardi, Avellino, Italy to Pasquaele and Agnesa Siconolfi.
Adelina was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Emilio, in 2003.
She is survived by her son, Gaetano (Elisa) DiMatteo, and two daughters, Vituccia (Ersilio) Maiorano and Lucia (Nicola) Portanova. She is a cherished grandmother to Rocco (Mirella), Vera (Sam), Rocco (Angela), Nickolas (Matilda), Emilio (Jessica), Vito (Monica) and Linda DiMatteo. The joy of being a grandmother quickly turned into the blessing of 18 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild on the way!
She was blessed with 5 brothers and 3 sisters and is survived by her brother Raphaele (Roccina) Siconolfi and sister Fiorentina (Antonio) Gentile.
Her smile was one of her strongest attributes as it was a clear reflection of her sincere heart. She worked hard and celebrated life even more enthusiastically. She loved to sing and dance whenever the occasion allowed and one of the family’s greatest memory is watching her dance at her 100th birthday celebration in 2019.
Family and friends may pay their respects at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home on Friday, May 28, 2021. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul-St. Ursula Church, 129 East Birch Street, Mount Vernon, NY at 10:00am.
