Viola Sharpe

Viola C. Sharpe the Former First Lady of Mt Vernon passed away on September 26, 2018. She was born in Mt Vernon on July 6, 1927 to Louis and Ida D’Ettore. Viola was predeceased by her beloved husband Mayor Thomas Sharpe. She is survived by her loving sister-in-law Dorothy DeEttore; her caring and devoted nieces and nephews, Joseph DeEttore Jr., Robert DeEttore, Diane DeEttore-Contegiacomo, Carol Cardillo, Janice Mosca, Michael Rao, Paul Rao, Richard Rao, Annemarie Haber, and also Clotilda Sepe, Donald Marini, Judy Smith, Carole Pierantoni. Viola was also survived by her step-children, Cathy Credendino, Darcy Araya and Thomas Sharpe Jr. Viola is also cherished by her loving Sacred Heart Church family where she was the heart and soul for over 34 years running daily operations. She is also predeceased by her sisters Ann Rao and Kathryn Petrillo and her brother Joseph DeEttore Sr. and her niece Kathryn Corbino. Family will honor Viola’s life on Sunday September 30, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 10:00 am Monday October 1, 2018 at Sts. Peter & Paul ~ St. Ursula’s Church, Mt Vernon. Interment at Beechwoods Cemetery.
