Sylvia A. Pescosolido

Sylvia Pescosolido, 98, of Mt. Vernon New York, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2019.  She was born in San Nicandro, Italy on November 4, 1920 to the late Maria and Angelo Daniele. She came, with her family, to America in 1928. She loved learning and graduated from Evander Childs High School in the Bronx, NY. On April 21, 1946 she married her beloved husband, the late Anthony Pescosolido. Before retiring, Sylvia worked for many years as an aide in the NYC public schools. She was active throughout her life in her local parishes, St. Francis of Assisi and St. Ursula, both in Mt. Vernon.  Sylvia is predeceased by her brothers Alfred and Fred Daniele and her sisters Nancy Quinn and Rose Murphy. Loving mother of Linda Kleva (Gregory) of Morristown, New Jersey and her son, Vincent Pescosolido (Nancy) of Monroe, Connecticut; cherished grandmother of Gregory Kleva, Allison (Kleva) O'Malley, Amy(Pescosolido) Gramolini, and Stacy Pescosolido and great-grandmother of Sophia Kleva, Jackson Kleva, Eamonn O'Malley, Keegan O'Malley, and Vincent Gramolini; dear sisters in law Marie Daniele and Connie Pesco; and also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Family will honor Sylvia’s life on Tuesday September 24, 2019 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home, 584 Gramatan Ave, Mt. Vernon, NY 10052. Funeral Mass on Wednesday September 25, 2019 at 10:45 am at Sts. Peter & Paul ~ St. Ursula’s Church, Mt Vernon. Entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
