Rose (Rosie) Toglia entered into eternal peace on 7/30/2018 at the age of 96. Rose was born on 10/23/1921 to Philip Martinelli and Elisa Piccolo. Rose married and lived in Mt. Vernon all her life. She came from a large family all of whom have now passed. She is predeceased by her loving husband Ray and daughter Ann, brother Joseph Martinelli, sisters Louise Fraioli (Anthony), Margaret Caragine (Frank), Fay Servello (Al), Carmella Della Donna (Frank / Hank as he was known).Rose was survived by Neice Anthonia Fraulo (Joseph deceased), Nephews Dr. Louis Caragine (Carol), Philip Caragine (Carol), Anthony Caragine (Marie-Elena) and great nieces and nephews too many to mention. Rose grew up in the Frank Sinatra era and was probably one of his greatest fans. If there was a show in the area Rose would be there. Rose was ahead of her time when it came to education. She graduated high school and years later went to college and went on to earn her Masters Degree. Rose had a great memory so much so that she called herself the family historian. If there was a question about her family Rose probably had the answer. Rose was always willing to help out and did volunteer work at St. Peter & Paul RC church in Mt. Vernon. Her working career started at Poloron Products in New Rochelle,NY. Rose had a few in between jobs and ended her career working for the Westchester County Social Services.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Peter and Pauls and St. Ursula Church, 129 East Birch Street, Mt. Vernon, NY 10552.
